The National Coordinated BioBlitz is a rapid biodiversity assessment that will be occurring on college campuses from the 10-18 April 2010. Led by chapter leaders of the ESA Strategies for Ecology Education, Diversity, and Sustainability (SEEDS) program, the event aims to increase awareness of local biodiversity and the importance of environmental stewardship of our remaining wildlife and natural areas. Through a partnership with EarthTrek, citizen scientists from the surrounding communities will join with university students to identify as many species as possible in an effort to classify the ecological quality of those sites of high local interest.
